Waking up to flying bullets and exploding bombs, with cameras and lenses over my shoulders, my ears pricking up as I darted between destroyed buildings, heading back to the refugee camp, that was once my vision of my future job as a war correspondent when I was a child.
I am a Vietnamese photographer and journalist based in Berlin, Germany. I was born and grew up in the 1990s in Hanoi, a capital that is over a millennium old and is a diverse center of culture, politics, and art in South East Asia.
I originally studied international relations to become a diplomat, but my life turned towards photography and I have been working as a journalist for more than 10 years. Despite the strong influence of my photo-journalism skills, such as narratives techniques and investigative storytelling, I have been expanding my practical and artistic knowledge of photography and history of art, broadening my cultural awareness, and developing my own distinctive style on social and environmental issues.
